The Role of Labor Laws in Relations to Human Resource Development Management

On one occasion, one of the classroom discussions at the graduate school was on human resource management. In Philippines setting, the Basic Rights of Workers required by the law from privately owned companies – under security of tenure – say ‘workers shall be made regular after 6 months probation’. This means additional premiums, and company benefits’ recipients in the organization. It is however sad to note not all companies are practicing this in their organizations which should not be case. In addition however, in reality not every single HR manager knows about the law, even the Labor Laws. That is why all but a few of them know concerning this one very important skill of an HR manager in an organization. This is something every single HR manager in every organization should know for several reasons.
